Every project needs supporters for it to succeed. I'd like to do a little round of acknowledgements to the kids who have helped bring my writing to life.


I have to start with my kids. My daughter was the inspiration for Amanda Apple, and my son is the inspiration for most of my stories for little kids. Any children's writer who has writer's block just needs to spend some time with kids. Living with children provides non-stop inspiration for me, apart from all the other ways my kids enrich my life. Thanks for bringing sunshine and stories into my life, kiddos. Life would be very dreary without you.

Like millions before me and millions to follow, I have decided to venture into the world of self-publishing. I am finalizing The Shadow of the Dragonsnake for print through CreateSpace. Why? Am I so vain that I need to see my name to be in print? Do I think that I’m better than all the writers who get published through traditional channels? Or merely more impatient?


I’ll give you a little peek into my reasoning. I love to write. But that’s understandable, right? You’d be hard-pressed to find a writer who didn’t.
